There is a new breed of golf cars now available for both commercial and consumer use - the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) also known as the Low Speed Vehicle (LSV).
These vehicles are legal to drive on Texas roadways with a posted speed limit of 35 mph UNLESS your local municipality prohibits them - a vast majority of Texas cities do allow these vehicles within their jurisdiction, however. These vehicles adhere to the U.S. National Highway Safety regulations and come equipped with seat belts, head lights, tail lights, turn signals. horn, windshield wiper, etc. In addition there are numerous accessories such as stereo systems and all-weather enclosures.
These vehicles are registered the same as you family sedan and can accommodate up to 4 passengers. So, for about 1-2 cents per mile to operate, the savings you get compared to the 50 cents per mile cost to drive your family sedan, you will see a noticeable increase in your monthly spending budget.
Come by today and test drive one of these exciting vehicles.

I love the idea of this. However my community does not let you do this. I hope that in the near future that the rules in my area will change. With as much talk going around and if other states and communities say good things about it and there are not alot of accidents that go along with it, I hope this will become the norm. For right now, I will have to keep taking my cart to the lake and using it to work in my yard.
